The Baby Back Ribs are the best!!! I've been coming here since I was a little kid. 10/10 - Baby Back Ribs

Before moving out of South Florida, I'm pretty sure I would have given this restaurant 4 stars. Now that I live in an area that is fortunate enough to have several quality BBQ restaurants, I realize that this place deserves 3 stars at most. The positive here is that you can get absolutely stuffed for a relatively low price, but you won't be getting stuffed with high quality BBQ. You can choose from a selection of their meats which you can eventually slather with the tasty sauces they have on the table. However, slathering sauce is almost a necessity since the meat doesn't taste amazing. They have had really friendly service on our visits here so that helps there cause, but if you're looking for quality over quantity, you'd be better served by looking elsewhere.

Had the all you can eat pork with 2 sides. Garlic bread was great and juicy. Pork was excellent. Green beans are just green beans. Waitress was great. Attentive and had good timing with the pork replenishment. Everything was good and smooth. Well worth a return trip in the future.

After giving Scruby's a second chance, I've moved their rating up to 3 stars. I think I found something on the menu, other than Bar-B-Que, that I can eat. I had the Turkey Wrap with a Sweet Potato and Cinnamon Butter. The meal was pretty good. I found it to be just the right amount of food to fill me up. The Cinnamon butter was very good on the Sweet Potato. Overall I had a pretty good experience this time.

Its a hole in wall. Those are usually the best. Their ribs are their signature dish. The most delicious Mac & Cheese. Service is good.

Greats deals. Great food. The service is always pretty good. The sweet tea is yummy. I always get it extra sweet.

One of my favorite bar be cue joints. I have been here number of times either by myself or with a group of people. I love their sweet tea with lime. They also have good fried okra which I had today with ranch dressing on the side. The service was very fast today, maybe because first day of school is tomorrow, but I got fast service which was good. I had the smoked chicken with garlic bread, cole slaw, and baked beans which was right on the spot. My friend Xavier had the pulled pork with collard greens and cole slaw. It was his first time here and he enjoyed it very much. Our waitress Kaitlyn was very nice and courteous to us. We both left nice and full. Scruby's is one of my favorite restaurants and I look forward to coming back many times in the future. Thanks again for a good experience Scruby's!!!!!!!!!

Came here a while back with some friends. I'm not usually a big fan of bbq spots in south florida because I usually don't think they're any good. But this place changed my mind. This placed is kind of a whole in the wall so I was skeptical upon entering. I ordered the grilled chicken breast, which was very good with a side of the sweet potato waffle fries & they gave me a side of some house made cinnamon butter, which was absolutely delicious. That alone is why I gave this place 4 stars, simply because of the cinnamon butter it was that good & even better when paired with the sweet potato fries. We also got some pineapple dessert after, which was very weird & not tasty at all.

Short and simple the food sucked. The spare ribs we're chewy the collard greens were tasteless the Mac and cheese was a joke. I can't believe this place even opens its doors every day. They need Gordon Ramsay to stop by.

I feel like this restaurant is getting expensive for no reason. The restaurant is very casual almost looks like s subway with all the small booths. The waiters are very basic. They serve you and your out the door. The food is good but it's just too much money.

This is my favorite BBQ spot. I love coming here. The staff is friendly, the prices are right, the food is amazing, and the quantity of food you get is enormous. I have never left this place not feeling satiated. The ribs are very good and so is the beef brisket. Look for the Groupon that is out there for this place and take advantage of the offer.

So fast forward to today and I had to read my last review with chagrin. What a change around. The place was cleaner, although I am going to go out on a limb here and say...still not enough, especially in the bathrooms. Shoes should not stick to the floor, but you have to wonder if all the ooey-gooey...goodness on the ribs just gets all over the place. The 1/2 rack all three of us ordered were perfect. I do mean perfect. Even the sides have gotten a little better tasting. The broccoli was fresh and not frozen...that in itself is a big improvement. All in all, I have to say...I didn't feel so tortured this time around...and it was packed to the gills with people. Way to go Scruby's! Super friendly staff and great service.

If there was a possibility to give a zero to this so called restaurant I would. You have been warned; if you're expecting "customer service" please do yourself a favor and don't bother walking through the door. We ordered take out and once we got home we were missing 2 out of 7 meals ordered. When we called back the girl that answered said "your full rack and half a rack" so she knew what was missing! When we went back I over heard the manager (Thomas) asking her "did they bring everything back so I can check?", so that was already a red flag! Then he walked over without saying hello, no greeting, no I'm sorry for the mix up, just saying did you bring eventing back so I can check to see if it's missing! And at that point I was already upset and said excuse me are you joking? You expect me to take the food from my guests so you can check and see if it's missing? Basically calling me a liar as if I have time to go back and forth for a rack of ribs! Complete incompetence, arrogance, no manners, and what's even worse is I asked for the owners name and information and I was given a card for the general manager John Write to call and complain and once I called he already knew about the incident and he was even more arrogant! There was no sense of remorse no genuine apology and he called himself the owner whether that is true or not I can now completely understand why there's zero customer service! Because when a general manager/owner doesn't care about his customers' feedback and experience, why should his staff care? Will never go back to this place, I have never been treated so poorly at any establishment, and we have been going to this place for many many years and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know to boycott this place. I'm a Yelper and I had never actually checked the reviews here because it's a place we have been going to for years but now it all make sense, it's clear that people have not been having good experiences here for a while. John Write, the way you're running your business is clearly not working and this is how 20 year old businesses end up closing their doors, due to incompetence staff that are too arrogant to see their mistakes, you're only as successful as the numbers of customers that walk through your doors! Soon that will be close to none if you keep this up!

The ribs were the bomb with the beans and sweet potato. Go there on either Monday or Tuesday for the $9.99 full rack with 2 sides. You will thank me for it. Will be back. BTW, the pulled pork sandwich is awesome.

This South Florida BBQ spot is one of the only ones I will frequent. That being said, it's hard to correlate South Florida and BBQ. This small chain does an all right job producing BBQ dishes for an affordable price. Having had excellent BBQ, this place is definitely more of a "chain" type restaurant and less "home cooking". I came on a Tuesday for lunch and had the $9.99 baby back rib special (full rack of baby back ribs, choice of potato, slaw, and baked beans). It was definitely a good value, but the ribs were not the best I have had. I would come again and maybe order something else because the ribs were a little too crisp on the outside with some burned meat flavor.

Scruby's BBQ has good ribs. The place is not all fancy but it's comfortable for families. The sweet potato waffle fries were good as a side. I felt that the baked beans were too sweet but they seem to be one of the most loved sides. The ribs were tender and fell off the bone. I like that they have several sauces on the table for you to try. I liked the original better than the sweet ones. Overall it's a good deal with good service.

I don't claim to be a BBQ connoisseur but I do know what I like. We went in on a Tuesday and their special is a full rack with potato plus slaw or beans for $9.99. Good deal! My husband ordered the ribs and I had the catfish . Both were good. The ribs were tender and fall off the bone. The catfish was fried crispy and not greasy at all. Their coleslaw is good and on the sweet side; that's how I like it. Their Mac & cheese is straight out of a box though. I like their gigantic water glasses too. Our server was great. Always smiling, friendly and attentive. The one thing that I found odd was that our sides came out first; then our entrees were served about 5 minutes later. I guess it's ok if you're starving and rather have them as appetizers as opposed to sides. The restaurant is clean, bright and well lit. If we're in the area, craving BBQ and it's a Tuesday, we will pop in again. Then run across the street to Mojo for dessert!

I wish there was an option for half a star....I purchased a family meal which included chicken (extremely dried out), ribs (overcooked and tight), baked beans (meh), baked sweet potatoes (tasteless & waterlogged), corn nuggets (fried in old oil), fried corn on the cobb ( just awful)...I spent over $60 and EVERYTHING was absolutely horrible. Should've had a V8!

My overall experience was great. The service was good and quick. Our food was super yummy!! I had the sloppy joe with french fries, cole slaw and baked beans...delicious. My boyfriend had the full rack of ribs, Mac n cheese, sweet potato and potato salad- awesome. Plus, they have pretty good beers on draft and in bottle. Will be back again!

Just not the same anymore!! This places use to be my go too BBQ place, but now they are just over priced! The food is often dry and flavorless and they've become stingy with the amount of food they serve. They use too serve you baked beans, cole slaw and a side of your choice but now you get one or the other. (Not Cool) Their baby backs use to be amazing.. but now they are below average. I miss the old scrubby's

  • don't a.

Have an extra star because the food was good, I am true believer in the customer is always right, we had gift certificates without expiration dates and the new owner would not honor them, yes, the restaurant changed owner 4 years ago, but as a consumer, how are you supposed to know they changed owners. Lost me as a customer, if honored I would be back, but now I won't return, food was ok, service was good.

This is one of our favorite BBQ places -- the other is Shiver's down in Homestead; however, Scruby's has better and faster service. I would wholeheartedly recommend the baby back ribs, the meat literally falls off the bone. In fact, it's tender and soft enough for abuelo and abuela's teeth -- trust me. Their baked beans are also delicious. They have a variety of sauces to pick from; even though, I really think the ribs are perfectly succulent as is... This place is a hit with our entire family and can accomodate big groups -- just make sure that your entire party is present when they are ready to sit you. Whenever we are in the area, we always end up here; I highly recommend it. In fact, if you like Shorty's, I'm convinced that you simply haven't tried Scruby's! ;-)

My wife and I used to come here often a few years ago. Now I wouldn't recommend it, bad over priced food, management and service. Save your bucks and go somewhere else.

Took my family to Scruby's tonight for their advertised Monday and Tuesday's Baby Back Ribs Full Rack for $9.99, and when we started to give our order, the waitress told us because of it being Memorial Day, the Special wouldn't be honored. I asked to speak with the manager only to be told the same thing by the manager. Yes, we walked out Dissapointed and called to let the rest of our family know there was a change of plans and to avoid Scruby's. Will return for the Baby Backs on the non holidays. Just too good to pass up.

We love love the baby back ribs. The first time we went there for lunch was great, I didn't know it was there as it is super close to my work. We were told about the $9 deal on Monday's and Tuesday's which I made sure to go back for. It's now my go to for ribs. Highly recommend and I love there sweet and sassy BBQ sauce.

  • Sidney S.

Love their ribs!! Honestly it's their only good thing on the menu. Sometimes they lack BBQ so don't forget to ask for BBQ packets although they usually supply them when you order take out and their packets are even good too. Their corn usually taste undercooked, and it's very hard. Ordered fried catfish, very spongey and the chicken was raw. 3 stars only for the ribs and BBQ sauce.

We came across this place by chance and its pretty good. For 6 bucks we got a pulled pork sandwich, a side & a drink. Really good deal. Would definitely come back if in the area.

This place is BBQ by any and all Standards! I look forward to Tuesday more than I do Fridays... Just to get my chompers around the Baby Back Ribs that are on Special every Tuesday for $9.95 for a full rack and 2 sides. The ribs are cooked to perfection, fall of the bone delicious ribs, no over sauced, or boiled to take away from the natural flavors of the meat! My 2 year old daughter devours these ribs like a champ (so proud)!!

  • Michaela G.

Sticky floors, poor customer service, decent enough food I guess... The last time I went there happened to be my first time and my party and I stood at the door waiting to be seated while the staff walked back and forth in front of us without acknowledging us. It was only after a server seated his friends who came in after us that another server seated us. It went downhill after that....and I hate to play the race card but that's what it felt like. I won't be returning.

Just had to get the Tuesday baby back rib special again with baked beans, mac & cheese and was not disappointed. I love the baked beans! They need to gimme a bigger portion next time :) The food, service and hospitality was great. We had Erin as our waitress and she was very prompt and returned to check on us in a timely fashion. Just a great experience.

Bbq=Subpar Corn nuggets=pass Fried catfish=Blah Overall=NEXT I personally think this place is overrated. I can make better bbq ribs at home and for cheaper. My friend had the ribs and I had the fish. Both were nasty to the point of not eating them. I'm not sure if my friend got a bad batch of ribs but they were undercooked and had the undercooked smell to go along with them. My fish was tasteless; thank God it came with lemon as I drenched the fish in lemon to make it palatable. I'm still searching for a decent bbq place in south Florida. Scrubby's is NOT it

I'll preface this review by saying I don't like BBQ. I know, I know... you're all upset and angry because "How can anyone not like BBQ!?" Well, I don't so deal with it. It's pretty amazing, therefore, that I'd give a BBQ restaurant anything over one star since I just despise all things BBQ, but Scruby's is a decent, family-friendly restaurant in a part of Florida that doesn't have much in the way of fancy restaurants. Prices are good. Meals are huge. My cousins really LOVE the food and they love BBQ, so I'll trust their judgement. I had a pulled pork sandwich that wasn't bad and the side dishes were excellent. Really, it's just a huge explosion of good sides and BBQ, so bring your appetite. It gets busy in here in the evenings, so the place can't be all that bad. They have a booming carry-out business and we actually waited about 10 minutes to be seated since there were so many people dining in. They have daily specials, a full bar and the service was decent. Our waitress was friendly but clearly overworked since she was assisting a TON of tables so she didn't really have time to come over by us and refill drinks and such. This place seems to be a favorite of people in Pembroke Pines, so I'd go back if I'm in the area again.

Scruby's is amazing bar-b-q. It is consistent and never disappoints. I cannot believe in all the years of coming here, I have never written a review. Frank and I chose Scruby's tonight for our anniversary dinner. We wanted something that we didn't have to dress for. Their baby backs always, and I mean always, fall off the bone. I eat them with a fork and knife - I hate getting my fingers dirty! ;) . Frank loves their St. Louis ribs. Tonight it was all you can eat St. Louis. You can't take them home, but they will serve you as many as you'd like. I absolutely LOVE Scruby's cole slaw. Their mac n' cheese is meh, but hey it doesn't bother me at all. I can live without them. The garlic toast is good, fries are good and I am not a bean person but Frank likes their beans. We have been to all sorts of barbecue places, including the famous Fort Lauderdale's Tom Jenkins and I have to tell you SCRUBY'S is one of our absolute favorites. The ribs ARE ALWAYS THE SAME. We recently went to Red Cow. I loved their brisket, but when I went back a second time the brisket was dry and not the same. I hate when that happens. I want to go to a place that if you amaze me with something, I can go back time and time again. Thank you Scruby's for being consistent! Those baby backs were off the chain tonight just as they always are. Enjoy!

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! I've finally found my BBQ place. Everything I've tried here is great: the pulled pork, the ribs, the brisket, the cole slaw. They serve their meat naked so you can try any of their 4 sauces on the table: Sweet, Original, Sweet & Sassy, and Hot. This place sells better BBQ than, Sonny's, Shorty's, and Dickies. And kids under 5 eat free -can't beat that!

Let me start of by saying this... It was love at first bite. The atmosphere was very casual and laid back. As soon as we walked in, we were escorted to a booth. Usually I always move to a different table at restaurants because they would seat me somewhere that's too dark or just too close to the kitchen. But the lady sat us all down to a clean booth and I had no urge to move. So far so good. On Tuesdays they have great deals on the ribs so make sure you take full advantage! I believe it was 10$ for a rack of ribs.. Their coleslaw?? Amazing. But nothing had me mentally ready for there ribs. It fell off the bone and it was so tender! Everything was just perfect. Now I know where to go when I want some amazing BBQ ribs.

I wanted to really like Scrubby's and I wanted to like them a lot, but it was just blasé, not that the food was bad, just it is BBQ for everyday people, except for they'er beans Scrubby's was ok, no mouthful explosions there. It was BBQ for beginners. I know it sounds bad, just nothing jumped off the plate at me and at the same time I ate it without complaint. a very difficult paradox here. Service was very good, ambiance well a little bit plain Jane feel, and so was the food though. I ordered the pulled pork and chicken combo, and like I said, eeehhh it was ok. I think Dana L. say's it best "Nothing to write home about".

Scruby's BBQ located in Pembroke Pines has the best baby back ribs in the area. The meat falls off the bones and they give you quite a few varieties of delicious BBQ sauces for your choosing. It all depends on your taste. Tuesday's offers baby back rib dinners for just $9.99, The coleslaw and the baked beans are also really good. I have visited Scruby's on numerous occasions and the service is always great and the food is consistently scrumptious.

My spouse loves barbecue so we decided to give scrubby's a chance The barbecue was dry and it was very Tuff not a lot of flavor just the barbecue sauce I think it was creative that they came up with all these flavors of barbecue sauce but as far as the quality of the meat the dryness I was not satisfied i'm giving two points for the service of my waitress but when I got there there was no smiles everybody was kind of doing their own thing but my she was very sweet and accommodating.

I've always liked Scruby's. Whenever my job is having a food day, I can honestly say that Scruby's usually ends up being who theygo with when getting BBQ. Until recently, I never actually went there and bought food for myself so I decided to take the plunge and get some BBQ on my own. I went with the half-rack of ribs with half pulled pork. It comes with your choice of side, baked beans, coleslaw, and garlic toast. To me, it's a pretty good portion of food. I can never finish all of it in one sitting. They have a lot of different specials so you'll be sure to find something that fits your fancy! Here's what makes Scruby's a winner for me. I've never liked baked beans. I thik they taste absolutely disgusting and it should be illegal in all 50 states. That was until I ate the baked beans at Scruby's. Can you say AMAZING???!!! Omg! I never thought I would ever like baked beans but I can eat theirs by the spoonful. It's the perfect blend of sweet and salty, the sauce is perfect! I can't say enough about them. You will love them. The ribs and pork was really good. Once in a while, the ribs might be a little dry but their bbq sauce cures that for me. I literally slather the BBQ sauce over everything. I can probably drink that by the gallon. While it may not be a good idea, the thought has crossed my mind once or twice. Their sweet tea is probably the best I've ever had. The only problem is that there is only one sized cup: ginormous! Again, it's only me so I have no intention of drinking a cup of sugar by myself. Let's face it; sweet tea is never good for anybody, EVER! It's loaded with sugar and filled with calories. However, you're eating BBQ so you're clearly not concerned with calories at the moment so splurge and get the damn tea. It'll make you want to slap yo mama... but don't. I mean it's your mother, for crying out loud. Four stars instead of five because they can occassionally have the dry ribs that must be coated in BBQ sauce. While that may work for me, it's not the way ribs are meant to be cooked. Also, this location is the very first Scruby's so the restaurant is old. It's in dire need of remodeling. The booths, tables, & chairs all look like they've been there since they first opened. I always get my food to go so it's no issue for me but if anyone invited me to sit down and eat there, I would give them a side eye.

It was ok. The fried catfish filet was delish. I had that with fries and was suppose to have baked beans but the waitress forgot so I had to take it to go. I also got the pulled pork sandwich. It looked ok but I noticed that there was no sauce on the meat. The meat was not dry but I need some sauce. Please do not get the mac and cheese! Its kraft mac and cheese and they should be ashamed to serve that to the customers!

Called the day before to place a pick up order for the next day. Not a catering but wanted to make sure it would be ready and available for the next morning. The young lady who answered the phone said absolutely no problem that to make it easier, she came in at 10:30 and to call then she'll run the order and it'll be available for pick up soon as they open! Called the next morning, placed my order and went to pick it up. I was visiting a detention facility so the rules of what to bring etc are tedious. The lady at the front was so helpful!!! (Amanda? Young lady brown hair?) She remembered all the little things I asked for the day before! Lots of napkins, plenty of plastic ware, sauces salt, pepper just everything! The food was delicious! I ordered the sampler sooooo good. And she remembered my sour cream!!! (A++) My husband got some ribs and veggies (Cooker perfectly!!). My sister raved about the BBQ pulled pork the whole visit! This was my first visit and it was a great experience! Please post this for your staff (I'm a supervisor at Panera Bread, the employees love it) They need to know and be recognized for their AMAZING customer service and outstanding food. Oh!!! And they seperated the vegetables so the other food wouldn't be soggy!!!!!!!!!! I can't rave enough about this place. Thank you for outstanding and caring customer service. Even the cooks acknowledged me with a warm welcome walking in! You're doing an awesome job!!! Keep up this kind of service!!!!! Thanks again!!!!

As soon as you walk in the smell of ribs hits you. The food was great, prices were good, portions were filling, and the staff was very friendly. Went on a Friday night and I didn't even have to wait for a table which was great!

Wouldn't say it's the best barbecue I've ever had... But this is south Florida for goodness sake. Definitely not something we are "known for". That said, I have always had a good experience here. Baby back ribs fall off the bone. Service is friendly and quick. It's a great neighborhood establishment when you're looking for something different.

Unknowingly I had been to the Scruby's in Davie before. However, I guess I was not impressed since I had forgotten about this. But then as soon as I entered and saw the picnic-like tables, it was like a flashback. But getting down to the nitty gritty... the food was great. My husband and I shared a rack and a half of baby's. We also had the spinach and artichoke dip [that was delicious! one of the best dips I've ever had]. That was more than enough food. The plates are huge. I especially loved the four kind of BBQ sauces they offer at each table. My favorite was the pepper vinegar [or, vinegar pepper?]. Our server was SUPER nice and attentive. Sweet lady. It's good to know we have a good BBQ place in the neighborhood.

French fries are not that great...baked potatoes are eehhhh....BUT the onion rings are great! I usually dont eat onions at all and these were great. You have to try them. My wife had the baby back ribs and they were real fall of the bone. The waitresses were kinda slow in helping us throught the day, it was a Tuesday at 1 pm and the place was empty. I had the bar b que chicken and it was good. ONION RINGS WERE AMAZING!! =) I will have to make more trips as thier menu looks really good.

Barbecue is a tricky dish. The ironic part is that most people like "fall off the bone" ribs. Culinarily speaking, those ribs are overcooked and most likely very dry. Sruby's is a victim of such an issue with most of their ribs. I went with a group of coworkers to have lunch here. I ordered the 2/3 (lunch) rib rack with baked potato and baked beans. The baked beans were good. The baked potato was bland. My ribs were borderline dry. Most of my coworkers complained that their dishes were very dry and almost inedible. Since I didn't experience that, well, I can't complain too much. Bottom Line: Ok for lunch, but don't expect anything revolutionary or out of this world.

Went here with my boyfriend since he recommended it for good BBQ food. I had no idea this place even existed! It's not that often that I eat BBQ, but on occasion I love digging into some good ribs! We ended up ordering the Baby Back Rib Feast for Two and a basket of Sweet Potato Fries. Oh man, the ribs were sooooo good! The meat just fell right off the bones into my mouth...I was in rib heaven! The sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy. Yum! I love sweet potato fries in general and these were definitely delish! I believe they actually added a dash of cinnamon on them to make them a little extra special. They were the perfect addition to my meal. I always love a good side dish too :) I definitely want to go back to this place for some more ribs, and maybe to try the chili cheese fries!

Best Open Pit barbecue is South Florida and the only one I found in Broward County. Generous portions of fall-off-the-bone ribs I've had in a while. Smoked, tender and juicy. I had the beef, pork, chicken combo and truly love the slaw and salad bar. Friendly service and family style interior. This restaurant has flipped since I was here last year- 2011; and now I rate it as my favorite.

The smell of this place is soooo good!! Everyone needs to experience Scruby's Bar-B-Q at least once in their lives. My sister took me here for the first time and the service is GREAT! We ordered take out there and it was about a 15-20 min wait. They have a seating area on the side for about 25-30 tables I think. I know they have many specials so call ahead and ask whats going on!

Good BBQ for this part of the world - I guess living in Texas for 6 years spoiled me. The actual portions of meat are a little on the small side for the price but overall it's not too bad. I have been here several times and on occasion the ribs will be overcooked and on the dry side but still tasty. Otherwise they do have good BBQ sauce and sides. Make sure you try the corn nuggets - they are good enough not to share with anyone else.

This is the first place I eat when I am in Florida. The ribs? My goodness. Just tenderly delicioso! We have asked for extra cinnamon butter and frozen it...there's nothing like it here in Chicago.

If not for the excellent spare ribs and the ability to order take-out, this place would have received one star. I ordered take-out twice before I decided to eat here seeing as how my parents were visiting and Sonny's closed down. The take-out experience was excellent and they made it very easy to substitute sides and meats; however, eating in was a totally different situation. The waitress actually said, "If I mess up, it's not my fault" after we ordered our meals. Is it so bad that I wanted to substiute a baked potato for cole slaw? Or that my mom wanted to substitute for the baked beans? When working at a restaurant that offers a variety of sides, you should be ready and willing to substitute them. In my experience, a lot of people don't like cole slaw and they usually end up asking for fries, baked potato, veggies, etc. inistead. Needless to say, I was pretty shocked that she said this. Once ouir food arrived (which took a little longer than it should have), the waitress never checked on us and we had to wave her down to get drink refills. She also looked right at my empty glass, walked away and I had to wave her down again to ask for a refill. Once we were finished, she brings the check. I had a gift certificate which I then gave to her as well as my credit card; however, once she ran the card, she didn't bring the original or revised check back to the table. I admit that I wasn't necessarily paying attention to what the original bill was b/c I was waiting for the revised bill and I would then compare it to the original one. I wasn't sure that she took off the enitre gift certificate so I waved her down and inquired about it. After giving me somewhat of a dirty look (she defintiely did not like us and it was readily apparent), she printed out both bills and showed them to me. I almost never tip below 15% and I always tip on the "real" bill, not the bill with the coupon subtracted from it. However, in this case, I gave the waitress just above 10% of the bill after the gift certificate was subtracted from it. She was a horrilbe waitress and just plain rude. This woman should not be working in the customer service industry and I venture to say that b/c of her, I can't see myself eating here again. Take-out? Maybe. Dine-in? Not likely.

Been here many time. And that because I like the food and the service. The specials are great too. Full Slab for $9.99 on Tuesdays? What more is there to say. And the other all you can eat deals are great as well. Biggest surprise was how juicy and tender the Chicken was. Got nothing here to complain about. I enjoy eating at this place. It's not for everyone, but nowhere is either.

I love this place! Their bbq is awesome! I could eat their sauce with everything! Baked beans - I normally hate baked beans but I love theirs. Baby back ribs - amazing - they just fall off of the bone!! Corn nuggets - omg... i'm not even really a fan of corn in general but I can't help but keep popping these in my mouth. All in all... my diet goes downhill whenever I go back to my home state - FL and Scruby's is one of the big reasons for that!

It was delicious, the ribs fell right off the bones. Great taste, I will sure go bacwak for another round of ribs. Service wasn't as fast as other reviews mention and it wasn't full. Over all it was great ill highly recommended.

Best BBQ I've had in FL! I had BBQ beef ribs, sweet potato, garlic bread and meatless baked beans. Delicious! I ate it all. Can't wait to return

I normally go to the Scruby's in Davie which is excellent. The Scruby's in Pembroke Pines however, left a bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended. We had take out of the following: 2 babyback rib dinners and one beef rib dinner. The baby back ribs were under cooked and the beef ribs were just shy of being burnt to a crisp as well as tough and greasy. All of the potatoes seemed to be from the previous day. They did not put the required baked beens and cole slaw for the beef rib dinner in the bag. The garlic bread appeared to be stale. I will not go back to this Scruby's again.

This was my first time and it was ok. The portions were good and reasonably priced and overall it was alright. I was a little disappointed since I ordered the sloppy joe and what was served, although not bad, just wasn't what I expected. The servers were nice and the sweet tea was good. I don't think anyone else mentioned this, but I have to bring this up... the decor is awful. The dining area makes me feel like I should be having tea and biscuits with grandma, not BBQ. There are photo portraits of the kids and wedding pics (cute pics, but out of place in this environment), dainty window treatments, and the ceiling is painted mauve. Yes, mauve. There are some knick knacks along the ceiling that go very well with mauve. Did I mention the ceiling is mauve? No bueno. In all honesty, the atmosphere was a real downer for me and my husband.

This place has the best ribs (says they are imported from Denmark)! I even do the drive from Downtown Miami all the way to Pembroke Pines just to get some ribs. Not fatty at all, and they have great BBQ sauces. Don't expect anything fancy at all, but the ribs are surely better than Shorty's, Flanagan's or any other ribs I've had elsewhere. I can't really speak much about the rest of the menu, because the ribs are what I have every time I go there. Service is fast and very friendly. The place perhaps needs a bit of a lift or a remodel, and I would give it 5 stars. It would also be nice if they were open for an hour later than their current working time in the evenings.

I love Scruby's ! I was first exposed to it at a work picnic and i was hooked their ribs are amazing and their coleslaw makes me sing! I was so upset when I found out my boyfriend lived around the corner from the BBQ joint and I hadn't been there!!! I still haven't had a sit down dinner there but a usually do take out they are super sweet and they're sweet potato with cinnamon butter is a heavenly carb! You must try this place!

Blahhh.... Never again so disappointing. I love BBQ and this was bad. Pulled pork sandwich was so dry( the pork) and the stew was horrible. Oh and so was the girl taking care of us. Loved the sweet hostess who was working her but off but the girl at the counter was rude, didn't know anything, and basically felt like she had no time for us. Forgot spoons, silverware, and plates. Annoying. Best thing was the full rack for 10 bucks on Mondays, and beans were ok.

I know very well that good BBQ is very subjective (so take what I write next with a grain of salt). I'm here to tell you about a little place called Scrubby's. Best BBQ joint in town and it is not even close and when I say BBQ, I mean RIBS!! I can't even comment on anything else they serve because it was love at first bite. You get a full rack, choice of fries, baked potato or sweet potato, two onion rings, two garlic breads, and a choice of baked beans :) or cole slaw:| All this for the fantastic price of $14.95 or so I also understand the wings are great but when I go to Scrubby's, which is not often enough, I am like a stripper to a dollar bill when it comes to the ribs. Oh yeah, the service is good to. highly recommend

The baked beans we're amazing... The baked potato was delicious... But the babyback ribs were dried out, not very tender and blah.

Been looking for good BBQ in South Florida and a friend who used to frequent the area recommended this spot. Had a craving so I figured I'd stop by for lunch today and see if this could be my new go to. Ordered the pulled bbq pork lunch special and ended up with the sliced variety. Was in a rush and didn't have time to wait so I just went with it. The small portion of smoked sliced pork was cold with the texture of rubber. The bbq sauce sitting on the table was warmer than the meat on my plate. Felt like I was on a hidden camera show and the server was going to pop up with the real bbq telling me this was a joke. The side of cole slaw was actually pretty good as far as that's concerned but sides at a BBQ spot should be icing on the cake. One good thing about the experience was the server offering me a to go sweet tea which was a nice gesture. Maybe this was an off day and I may try again but in the meantime I'll be looking elsewhere for my go to BBQ spot.

You can never leave Scruby's not completely stuffed. If you have, you're doing it wrong. And with so many options, how you can you possibly mess that up? Start with some of their sweet corn nuggets (it's the closest you can get to have dessert first and not spoil your dinner), order up a combo platter (1/2 rack of ribs with chicken, cole slaw and a potato) or a sandwich (for a mere $5) or a rack of ribs and don't forget the monstrous-sized fountain drink or sweet tea. Their sauces really seal the deal. Hot BBQ, Sweet BBQ, Original and a few others are available on every table, so you can mix and match to your heart's content--regular on the ribs, hot on the chicken. And no one is there to tell you it's too much! Overindulgence at it's finest!

Scrubys has great bbq at great prices! From the smoked turkey to the pork to the ribs, you cant go wrong. My favorite is the salad topped with smoked turkey... which after eating at lunch, you wont be hungry during dinner. Sweet tea is a must .. along with corn nuggets as a app!

My family enjoys the baby back ribs and fries. The service is great. Very affordable. Love the sweet tea! It may not be the best in the state but it is a great local joint for family dining.

What a mistake going to this place. My boyfriend and I are on vacation near his grandparents' home, and we decided to get barbeque for everyone. There are five of us so we picked up a combo for four people and a combo for one so everyone could share (four being the largest combo they offer). The combos were supposed to have ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. Not only were the brisket and the pork tough and dry, there were a grand total of 6 ribs for the entire group! Ridiculous! Portions were preposterous for $70 worth of food and it was overall poor quality. We won't ever go here again.

Bummer! I was saving my calories all day. Granted, I probably shouldn't have ordered a burger at a BBQ joint, but I wasn't expecting institutional food. My kid had the beef ribs which were OK. Skirt steak had no flavor, and my husband's BBQ beef plate looked dry as can be. I expected better from a place that's always so crowded.

Thanks George! I went and had the ribs and they were fantastic. The first thing that hits you when you walk through the door is the aroma of smoked meat .. um um good. They have some good lunch specials also for less than $10. Nice selection of about six different BBQ sauces which were very good. Their Habanaro Hot Sauce is pretty tasty without being too hot. The place does lack atmosphere, but the service was really good.

I have lived not very far from Scruby's for years, but didn't try it until just a few months ago. I have been back a few times now with the wife and kids. We like the atmosphere - it's not a 'hole in the wall' bbq joint. I am not saying 'hole in the wall' is a bad thing - after all Tom Jenkins is a hole in the wall but it's the best darned BBQ in Florida! Anyway, even though I like the food better at Sonny's, Scruby's is pretty close. I have tried the spare ribs, baby back ribs and sliced beef. All are good. I like the cole slaw but the baked beans are a little watery for my taste. Sonny's beans are far superior as are their texas toast. What I do love about Scruby's is their kids' menu. I can count the fingers on one hand to figure out how many things my son will eat for dinner. Mac and Cheese is his favorite and they have that. My daughter loves the hot dog. Bottom line, it's pretty good. The service is decent. If yo are very picky about your BBQ, it will suffice to calm your craving.

I enjoyed the taste of their BBQ! It was better than I expected and they have a nice salad bar. It is a great family place that made you feel as if you were with your buddies barbequing in yur very own back yard.

The best hidden Bbq Restaurant that you don't know about, but once you try it you will be back for more. I found this place near my job and tried it today for the 1st time. The menu is huge, good portions, great prices, nice staff, and their sloppy joe sandwich and cloeslaw rock. Check it out its worth it.

Scruby's all around does have decent BBQ and a good down to Earth feeling when you walk in. I went there last Sunday with the family and ordered the #3 Combo Meal which includes Half rack ribs/Pork Slices, Potato, and Caesar Salad. Ironic, but their Caesar salad is very good. Ribs are seasoned well but not too meaty, I've had better else where, "Sonny's BBQ". Overall, not a bad place to have BBQ. Their prices are also very reasonable. Go try it!

First visit to scrubys bar b q,it's a diner come sports bar. We're visiting Pembroke pines from the U.K, and have loved the yelp app as we found scrubys, we had the beef brisket and salad bar which at $2.99 is brill. The atmosphere and service was great too. We're going back!!!

There arent a lot of BBQ places in Miami, out of the few I've been to, Scruby's is the best. Great ribs, they melt right off the bone. The sides are excellent and the atmosphere is appropriate for what you would expect a BBQ place to be. Overall, highly recommended. Suggestion, the portions are huge so do not be afraid to stick to the kids portions, they're cheaper and will still satisfy the average person.

I LOVE Scruby's. I have no problems driving 45 minutes to eat there, knowing full well that there's a Shorty's only blocks away from my house. The sweet taste of corn nuggets haunts my dreams. They're always served boiling hot and I've left the roof of my mouth in shreds on more than one occasion from munching out too soon. One of the biggest things that stands out for me here is the cleanliness. For serving such notoriously sloppy fare, Scruby's is always impeccable. What you spend in gas, you will save on food. The combos come with a ton of food at a great price. For you sauce fanatics, you'll be delighted to find each table armed with an IHOP-esque selection of BBQ sauces (the pepper vinegar wins, hands-down). The staff is super nice and they're USED to big groups so there won't be any frozen-deer-in-headlights looks when you show up sunday afternoon with 10 of your hungover friends and everyone's paying a separate check. If you live in Broward, congratulations. You have one of the most excellent neighborhood BBQ places around. If you live anywhere else, man up and make the drive, it is totally worth it.

Not the greatest BBQ but better than most I've tasted since moving to Hollywood from Detroit. Zukin's in Lincoln Park was my favorite but Scruby's is a reasonable substitute.
